Cornrows are a traditional way of hair grooming and now it has become one of the most popular braiding hairstyles. This requires the hair to be closely braided, right from the scalp itself, using an underhand, upward motion, so that continuous raised rows are produced. These “cornrows” can be formed either in straight, simple lines; or in complicated, geometric or curvilinear designs. Most people opt for this particular style of braiding for it can be easily maintained. If one carefully washes one's hair using a stocking-cap or a hair net and if one regularly applies oil to the hair and scalp, then this cornrows can be left in for weeks at a time.
