Hair braidingHair braiding is considered as an ancient art, with its roots first spreading from one generation to another in the dark continent of Africa . The origins of this hair art can be traced to Egypt as far as 3500 BCE. Gradually, many Western countries began to use different hair braiding techniques for occasions as it became clear that hair braiding is proving itself a favorite with most young girls and women. No doubt, the low maintenance factor associated with hair braiding made it even more popular with college going teenagers. So let's find out how to get started with braiding on your friend's hair next. Step One The best way to start is by applying a styling gel. You could also use a mousse or pomade to clean, damp hair and blow dry the hair as smoothly as possible. Step Two You must divide the hair into three equal portions. Hold the left section between your left index finger and thumb, while you allow the middle section to hang free and then hold the right section between your right index finger and thumb. This is the way you should start to make the hair braids. Step Three Hold the middle section with your right middle finger. Then you must pull it. When you pull it, it passes behind the right section. So then, you can extend your right thumb and index finger so that the portion of hair therein comprises the middle section. Step Four Use the left middle finger and you must pull the middle section that is behind the left section. Remember not to pull too hard. If you pull with too much force, that would lead to hair breakage. So do the pulling part gently. Then all you've got to do is extend or straighten the left index finger and thumb so that the left section becomes the middle section. Step Five The hair that is hooked in the right middle finger should be shifted in such a way that it is positioned between the right index finger and thumb. For best results, you should just repeat this process. Then, you can shift the portion of the hair hooked in the left middle finger so that it is between the left index finger and the thumb. Step Six Keep doing these steps till you've covered the desired length of your hair braid. If you prefer to have a tighter, more compact braid, you can do so by pulling the middle section into a horizontal line. This can be done when you pull it to the right or left. To have a loose braid, you just have to shift the middle section to the right or left. That way, it would remain like a vertical line. Step Seven You can now tie the ends of your hair braid using a rubber band. Add a bow or accessory to give a better look. With lots of practice, you will surely become a hot favorite with all your friends so go on perfecting the art of hair braiding! hair_braiding |
